Five Good Reasons to Update Your Portfolio

Five Good Reasons to Update Your Portfolio

When we and our clients are looking for our next model for an assignment, we and our clients look through your modeling portfolio.

Our clients hope to find someone with the perfect look, style, and attitude for their next photo shoot, film assignment, campaign, or promotional event here.

As a result, it is critical that you keep your modeling portfolio up to date.

We cannot emphasize this enough as a long-standing agency that works with a diverse range of clients of all sizes and locations, as well as models of all ages, types, and levels of experience.

Here are five reasons why:

  • Just as your portfolio serves as a window for our clients, it also serves as a stage for you to shine.

This is your chance to not only show us and our clients how you look, but also to tell us about any recent relevant experience or new skills you've gained.

This is your chance to distinguish yourself from the crowd. As a result, it must be as strong as possible.

  • Your photos must be recent and reflect your current appearance.

When a client hires a model from Crystal Models Africa for an assignment, they want to know that the person who shows up looks exactly like the model in their latest photos.

If you have significantly changed your hairstyle or lost a significant amount of weight, for example, the person who arrives will not be the person they have booked.

This could have a significant impact on the entire assignment and, as a result, your job prospects.

  • Children change faster than adults, so we recommend that their photographs be updated every few weeks.

This is especially true for infants. If your child now appears much older, you will not only be disappointing clients who may be looking for a very specific age range of junior or baby model, but you will also be reducing your child's chances of work because they will not be considered for any genuinely age-appropriate bookings.

  • Your photographs must be clear, well-lit, and accurately represent you as our clients envision you.

As a result, there is always room for improvement; perhaps include something more seasonal and relevant, or simply freshen them up slightly with one or two new additions.

Remember that your photographs do not have to be professionally taken, but it is worthwhile to follow our advice on how to take the type of photographs we are looking for.

  • Your information must be current.

Phone numbers and email addresses change frequently, and people move from one city to the next. Not only is it critical that you update these on your portfolio so that we can contact you about work quickly, but it is also critical that we know where you live so that we can monitor any local work opportunities for you and put you forward for anything suitable that may be close to home.

We also need to know if your clothing and body size measurements, as well as children's heights, are still correct.
